DETAILED ITINERARY: Day 1 -
Wednesday
Leaving in the morning from your home, you begin your adventure to the Book of Mormon Holy Lands. You will probably connect through Atlanta, Houston or Dallas, depending on the airlines chosen. As you arrive in the early evening, make sure your Passport Is Stamped and You Receive an Entry Document. These are necessary as we tour to different countries. Collect your bags and if you choose the option, the humanitarian equipment that will be gifts to local inhabitants throughout the tour. (You may want to bring a wheel chair along, or other equipment for the disabled such as glasses, hearing aids and crutches – new or used). Walk to the Marriot Hotel Desk in the Arrivals Area and identify yourself. If the desk is unoccupied, then step out to the curb, passing the many taxi drivers and baggage handlers who want to help you. A simple "No, Gracias" would be a be nice expression. Wait for the Marriott Shuttle which brings you in about seven or eight minutes to the deluxe (5 Star) Guatemala Marriott Hotel in beautiful Guatemala City. You’ll spend two pampered nights here. The shuttle van comes around every 10-15 minutes and is already alerted about your arrival. On the way from the airport you will pass thru an Arched, Roman Built Brick Aqueduct constructed in 1500 A.D. Guatemala City has a history reaching back to 600 B.C. It is the most prominent city center of this area both anciently and today. You will find the Hotel very comfortable. You can relax . . . take a leisurely dinner, by yourself or with other members of the group. Look for the BOOK OF MORMON LANDS REVEALED name tags - and always wear yours - even on the plane! Remember, dinner may take a while . . . enjoy it! You are "South of the Border!"
